A simple library for scroll animations including tweening, waypoints and parallax. Animation can be a great way to engage the user, particularly when it’s tied to their action on the page (scrolling). However, building scroll animations has often come with a lot of pain with different libraries of varying quality providing parts of the solution. Why cobble together a solution using multiple (possibly conflicting) libraries when you can have all three features in one? Built to provide a clean interface and total flexibility in designing the animation, while staying light-weight, ScrollIt is the swiss army knife of scroll animation.
This blog is built using an entirely new WordPress theme system that I have recently completed. While the front-end hopefully looks good, the real power is in the admin panel. The site is built on a set of templates for blocks that can be combined in any order and are fully responsive – allowing editors to select which blocks are visible on different devices, and to choose their sizes per device. The system is easily extensible to add new templates, which I will be doing regularly. I’m in the process of revamping some of my other sites using this same template, which will be a great exercise in showing the flexibility of the system.
